Project Checklist

It always pays to be prepared! Get your new project off to a fantastic start.

What’s On Your
Project Checklist?

Undertaking any home improvement project will require hard work, careful planning, and an understanding of the process ahead. We recommend starting by coming up with a checklist and adhering to it throughout the course of your project. Sometimes, it can help to split your checklist into three stages: Pre-Project, During Project, and Post-Project.

PRE-PROJECT CHECKLIST
Use the following steps before your new projects begins:

1) Remove furniture from workspace.
2) Empty closets and pantries if needed.
3) Remove oven, fridge, and dishwasher if working in kitchen.
4) Remove all items from countertops.
5) Remove toilet if working in bathroom.
6) Draw blinds or lift or remove window treatments if needed.
7) If installing hardwood flooring, prepare an area for acclimation. Hardwood flooring needs to adjust to the humidity levels in your home before it can be installed.

DURING PROJECT CHECKLIST

  • Be home during the installation to communicate with the team.
  • Address baseboards and doors with your installation team.
  • Ask any questions while the installation team is present.

POST PROJECT CHECKLIST

  • Wait 24 hours before walking on your new flooring.
  • Wait 48 hours before returning furniture.
  • Place felt pads on the legs of all furniture.
  • Wait one week before placing rugs on your new flooring.
  • Keep your flooring completely dry for at least one week.
